Why VTSAX and VBTLX?

I would like to start this off by saying thank you to John Bogle, and all he has done for the everyday investor. From creating a low cost index fund to sharing the true nature of big hedge funds whom take high percentage of your profits due to high management fees. I have been inspired by his work and simplicity of his investing philosophy and will continue to invest the way he would. RIP.

VTSAX- Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund. This is personally the fund I purchase on a weekly basis. There are a few reasons I purchase VTSAX.

  • Low cost!

    Having low costs let’s you maximize profits. High fees charged from management companies will eat into your profits big time and over long periods will reduce your profits so much.. that I wouldn’t even recommend investing. Having low cost is extremely important and is why I purchase VTSAX. What you save in fees can be directly reinvested over and over year after year causing compound interest to work in your favor.
